Family PictureDr. Peter Ahlers-Nelson grew up on a small dairy farm near Blooming Prairie, MN. In 2001, Pete entered the Air Force National Guard during his freshmen year at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Shortly thereafter, he graduated with a bachelors of science in biology and a minor in chemistry in 2005. In January of 2006, Pete began his Chiropractic studies at Northwestern Health Science University in Bloomington, MN. While continuing his education, Pete was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 2007 and two years later, in April 2009, Dr. Pete graduated with a Doctorate of Chiropractic.

Dr. Pete completed internships in and around the Twin Cities, Christchurch, New Zealand and even worked with a Chiropractor in Mississippi before opening his own practice in Albert Lea, MN in July of 2010. Dr. Pete met his wife, Courtney, within months of opening his office in Albert Lea. Together he and Courtney decided to move to Northfield in May of 2011, opening up his 2nd office, in order to be closer to both of their families. Dr. Pete looks forward to serving the people of the Northfield and Albert Lea areas for many years to come.

“I love Chiropractic. I could not imagine doing anything else and being happier.”

Honey.Pete's.ChiropracticHoney Ahlers-Nelson was born in February of 2013 in Dubuque, IA. Honey was adopted by Dr. Pete and his wife Courtney seven weeks later. Honey is our resident Chiropractic Assistant and the apple of her mom and dad’s eye.  Honey is a Gooldendoodle (3/4 poodle, 1/4 golden retriever) and does not shed. She is super soft and loves to be pet (although she is a little shy at first).

Honey enjoys sleeping, cuddling, running, jumping, chewing on her toys and chasing squirrels. Honey works part-time at both offices, although you are more likely to see her at Dr. Pete’s home office in Northfield as she prefers to work from home, but she does go for the occasional road trip to Albert Lea.

“I love to chew on things. I could not imagine doing anything else and being happier.”
